emerge system error

Hi! I have a little problem when I'm doing the <emerge --emptytree system> command...

I receive this : "Failed patch : bzip2-1.0.2-NULL-ptr-check.patch!"

did you check your internet connection after chroot to make sure you are on....did you get anything like failed to connect to server

and are you sure you are chrooted into your install environment.....
