|

Okay so..
I followed the installation guide and I ran 'adsl-setup/net-setup and adsl-start' it said 'connected!'
so.. then I tried to connect to the internet using irssi and I tried to ping my isp, but nothing happened.
'my adsl-box which is also a router -> switch -> my computer' <- the way I'm connected
and I think I'm using a NAT. :P
So any suggestions?
Do I have to run any special commands because I'm using NAT?
Thanks.

The machine this problem occurs on is directly connected to the internet, is that right?
And you have an outgoing connection to the internet, as adsl-start said connected.
"ifconfig" should show you a ppp0 device with configured inet adress.
Did you try to connect, an ip-address or an url?
Try to "ping 140.211.166.170", which is the gentoo forum. If that works, you are connected.
Try to "ping forums.gentoo.org", if it doesn't work, but the above did, you have a dns problem.
Post you /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/conf.d/net here. Also, the output of "route" could be interesting.
What makes you think you are using NAT? Did you configure any firewall rules? If so, post them here. |

Is your computer connected to the router? if so you probably need to just use DHCPCD! _________________ http://xbmodder.us/ |

btw. what you mean by using DHCPCD? when I write that in console nothing happens, is that okay?
And I forget to save my conf and now my net isn't working. ;< |

My router is Zyxel Prestige 645.
And like I said my router is also my adsl-box and I have a switch too, because I have two computers |
