stavo provando ad installare i driver nvidia seguendo la guida
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/it/nvidia-guide.xml?style=printable
solo che

come posso risolverlo?

poi sono andato in /etc/x11/xorg
e non ho il file di configurazione ma solamente xorg.conf.example
vorrei aggiungere la rotellina del mouse!

ho installato gentoo proprio adesso :P
ho un casino di problemi

"No volume control elements and/or devices found." l'audio nn mi funziona ho fatto emerge alsa alsa-utils

poi ho due lettori e non mi funzionano nessuno dei due

certo che è molto più difficile rispetto a debian
e ancora mi va pure più lento speriamo di migliorare
sicuramente la colpa è mia e non di gentoo :P

per quanto riguarda i driver nvidia,

Controlla queste due cose....

per il resto non saprei che dirti io li ho riemersi proprio ieri con le stesse versioni (nvidia-kernel e gentoo-sources) e non mi ha dato nessun problema.

P.S. ma il 2.6.12-gentoo-r9 è il kenrel che stai effettivamente usando? o hai appena fatto l'upgrade\installazione. Nel qual caso credo che ti convenga prima riavviare e poi emergere nvidia-kernel

ma /usr/src/linux punta al kernel che stai usando? controlla in /usr/src/

Scusa, prova a verificare che esista il file .config in /usr/src/linux :?
E fatti un

ls -al /usr/src
per vedere se linux punta effettivamente a linux-2.6.12-gentoo-r9

Per configurare X prova:
Code:
xorgconfig

e per usare il mouse con rotella aggiungi la riga
Code:
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

nel file /etc/X11/xorg.conf nella sezione del mouse, e assicurati che usi come protocollo "IMPS/2"
