My problem with xmms and shoutcast server:

Shoutcast xmms audio streaming
used plugin : liveIce 1.0.0
shoutcast version : erver Version 1.9.5/Linux

The best i could do to make it work, also made the sound in a very hight pitch.
unless i want to broadcast muppet show music in a very hight pitch i am asking for any tips/info/conf of a 100%
working conf with these 2 applications.
If i change the server conf in to what seems to be a possible better configuration; soon as i start it; it crashes xmms.

As anyone been able to make these 2 applications work properly ?

I really would like to use these too applications for this and any help is appreciated

After some testing i was able to confirm that this problem is not with the shoutcast server but with the xmms LiveIce 1.0.0 [libliveice.so] plugin.
Currently i have the shoutcast server working on gentoo but using a win box using winamp and winamp dsp shoutcast source plugin .

Does anyone have an alternative to : xmms LiveIce 1.0.0 ?

im still looking for a solution for this using xmms or audacious + liveice or anything else that does the same.

ok problem solved.

The error was:

shoutcast server:
Code:
laptop shoutcast-1-9-5-linux-glibc6 # <06/17/05@22:19:06> [source] connected from 127.0.0.1
<06/17/05@22:19:06> [source] icy-name:DasOracle ; icy-genre:
<06/17/05@22:19:06> [source] icy-pub:0 ; icy-br:64 ; icy-url:
<06/17/05@22:19:06> [source] icy-irc:N/A ; icy-icq:N/A ; icy-aim:N/A
<06/17/05@22:19:06> [source] source dropped connection. disconnecting.

and i forgot to show it where the LAME codec was located (/usr/bin/lame).
I found the solution here.

And here : http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/shoutcast-config.xml we have a very nice tutorial using SHOUTcast server + SHOUTcast Trans.
