irda in hp omnibook xe2

hello! i've tried all sorts of settings but i cant get it working anyway, has anyone irda working on this laptop or has step-by-step guide to get it working? i would like to beam files using ircp from openobex and to set up LAN with my ipaq, it has ifconfig irda0 192.168.0.1 running

Hi, I'm also trying to set up the infrared port.

I've found this HOWTO and currently trying to use it to install.
