I'm trying to manually install Tomcat 5.5.9 on Gentoo. To run tomcat as a daemon, you have to unpack jsvc, cd into the jsvc-src dir and ./configure. Every time I try this, and on more than one Gentoo box I've tried it on, I get

Code:

bash: ./configure: Permission denied

in response to trying to run ./configure.

What have I missed?

D'Oh! chmod 755 configure solved it.
