Are you running wxgtk-2.6? Also posting some relevant information like emerge info would be a smart thing to do. Also check latest amule cvs cause they have kad support and also a working gui/daemon separation.

Hello!

Same problem here. Although I'm not running on AMD64 (P-IV 2000). I'm having some trouble with emerge. Reading in other post (I don't remeber now which one), someone said that was necessary to remerge wxgtk-2.6 because the compiler had changed ... blabla ... and I did it but I'm still having the same problem.

Code:
>>> md5 files   ;-) files/digest-amule-2.0.3-r4
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) aMule-2.0.3.tar.bz2
!!! set-wxconfig: Error:  Can't find normal or debug version:
!!! set-wxconfig:         /usr/lib/wx/config/base-ansi-release-2.6 not found
!!! set-wxconfig:         /usr/lib/wx/config/base-ansi-debug-2.6 not found

/etc/make.conf
Code:
CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4"
CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
MAKEOPS="-j2"

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Raul

the last version worked:

      Homepage:    http://www.amule.org/
      Description: aMule, the all-platform eMule p2p client
      License:     GPL-2

looks like this is a problem with this specific version.
p.s. reemerging wxGTK didn't help here neither....

I tried 2 things, both resulted in successful emerges with different results.

Method 1:

I'm noticing that most like me do not have the gtk use flag set. Adding the following line to /etc/portage/package.use worked for me.

Code:
net-p2p/amule gtk

It didn't add any more packages than I already had, but that could just mean that either the older versions of amule or another package I have installed already installed the gtk dependancies.

The results were as you would normally expect.

Method 2:

It was looking for a file called /usr/lib64/wx/config/base-ansi-release-2.6 so I gave it one.

Code:
ln -s /usr/lib64/wx/config/gtk2-ansi-release-2.6 /usr/lib64/wx/config/base-ansi-release-2.6

Now that gtk2 file may or may not be exactly the code amule is looking for, but hey, I got a result.

The emerge then went through, but this time it did not give the same result. The /usr/bin/amule and /usr/bin/amulegui files were not created. You could only run the amuled daemon. If that's all you want then great, but if you want the GUI then use Method 1. I'm about to revert back to Method 1 myself, at least until this gets fixed.

I'm having problems to emerge amule to but isn't with amule specificly, my problem is with wxgtk, i've already open a thread about this but just one person answered saying the same thing, while emerging wxgtk-2.6.1 the working directoring in my /var partition gets to big (1GB just this directory) and full the empty space causing error.
anyone knows whats maybe happining?

you need to clean out as much as u can from this directory or resize it to something more suitable. U wont be able to compile anything without the room to store the intermediary files.
