|

I had gotten used to taking hardware support for granted in Linux until I bought a Canon printer without doing any research first.. Now I want to play with my bluetooth phone so I need to get something for my PC (desktop, not a laptop). Can anyone recommend a USB or PCI bluetooth receiver with well-supported linux drivers? |

I simply bought the cheapest BT USB dongle I could find; it's from Manhattan.
That is not to recommend that specific one as I haven't tried others , but this one's working fine.
(Only thing is that it has a blue LED in it that starts blinking as soon as you activate it, kind of annoying. Also, the windows driver is 50meg (!) compressed how's that for bloat?)
I would expect any USB dongle to work with linux though, as they don't seem to need any chip-related drivers in linux, just the usb and bluetooth modules. _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |

hi
I have a weird problem, I cannot find any Bletooth Support in the kernel config
I've found "USB Bluetooth TTY" but in other tjread (very old) i've read that it should be "Bluetooth Support" (not USB...) :\ _________________ Illuminatus Primus |

In recent 2.6 kernels it is under Device Drivers -> Networking Support -> Bluetooth subsystem. _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |
