I've noticed that not too many companies offer Gentoo as an OS. And those that do either are way too expensive or have constricting rules (no IRC and so forth).
So my question is this, if I were to go with a server company that offers Red Hat or something like that, would they get pissed if I install Gentoo overtop? Or does this depend on their rules? Or does anyone know of a cheap dedicated server that runs Gentoo? (I don't need much, just like 20Gb HD, and anything about 1 Ghz, and 1.5 Mbps up and down will be fine for connection speed) _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |

I would say it depends on their rules and wether you buy or rent the server. |

www.linode.com offers user-mode linux accounts with Gentoo, but it sounds like they may be a bit underpowered for your requirements.
