I'm trying to build a PVR. My hardware is:
Celeron 1.33G
i815EP mobo
Geforce2 MX w/ TV out
Hauppauge PVR-150
I am using gentoo-sources, which is 2.6.12-gentoo-r6. There was nothing about lirc in there, and the lirc ebuild made modules, but did not change the configuration prompts for building the kernel itself. I don't know if this is the problem.
I've followed the instructions in http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Setup_MythTV to try to get this thing working. I'm running into problems with LIRC. I can't figure out why there is no /dev/lirc, /dev/lirc/*, or /dev/lirc[0-9] devices. I have the lirc-i2c module loaded and the lircd service running, but I only have /dev/lircd, which I believe is only half the equation for using the IR blaster/receiver that comes with the PVR-150.
I am not sure where in the process /dev/lirc is supposed to show up. Does anybody have any ideas?
EDIT: Well, never mind. I re-emerged lirc with ~86, and now it works. I'm not sure if it was re-emerging or the newer ebuild, but it seems to work now. |
