Bookmarking Gentoo forum topics

Just wondering:

If I bookmark a topic of interest in Mozilla/Phoenix, the visible title of these bookmarks always look like:
"Gentoo Forums :: View topic - OpenOf" or similar.
The bookmarks colums does not offer room for more characters. Not very informative if you happen to have a lot of them around (and are too lazy to manually change the title :wink:

)

Is't it possible to make the title look something like this:
"OpenOffice and two keys accents :: Gentoo Forums", which would look like
"OpenOffice and two keys accents :: Gen" in my bookmarks.

Or should I file a feature request @ Mozilla's bugzilla for a wider bookmarks-text-field

Or am I just getting spoilt by all the Gentoo goodies :?:

So, because of your laziness, you want a developer to modify some code that isn't really fixing or improving anything.

Well, there's a fine line between laziness and bona-fide feature requests. I can certainly see things from AE's point of view.

That said, I'm not sure I want to hack on the phpbb code for a change that is largely cosmetic. It increases the difficulty of maintaining our (custom) phpbb code base going forward.

I can see his point, but with almost no effort on my part (editing as you described), I have never run across a bookmark that was unuseable because of width.

It might not make for a bad feature request to the phpBB guys. I would also like to see the special searches like egosearch and unanswered have unique titles. I suppose this is the type of thing where a truly motivated individual would actually make the changes work and post it as a feature request/solution combination.

I don't care much about bookmarks, but I often have more than ten tabs in Phoenix open on threads in the forums. If the first word of the page title wasn't Gentoo, but rather the first word of the thread's title, I might stand a chance not to get lost in my own tabs all the time...

bandwidth is expensive here.
so I use mozilla to save the whole page, rename it following my standard, for off-line viewing.

Disadvantage : I need to resave it if somebody add something
