Hey

ich hab in meinem Notebook ein P4M und weiss nicht ob ich das Stage fuer den P4, das i686 oder das "normale" x86-er nehmen soll.

Du kannst ihn wie einen normalen Pentium 4 behandeln.

ist es normal das es fuer den p4 keinen stage1 gibt?

Da du alles neu kompilierst, ist das nicht Prozessorspezifisch, sondern Architekturspezifisch (ist das so richtig ausgedrückt?). Für einen P4 müsstest du also das Stage1-File für x86 nehmen.
Also zum Beispiel das da: ftp://ftp.caliu.info/pub/gentoo/releases/x86/2005.1/stages/x86/stage1-x86-2005.1.tar.bz2

ich dachte auch immer, dass stage 1 besser sei als 3
falls es dich interessiert kannst du ja mal den tread hier überfliegen
