I'm a newbie to wireless lan/airport etc, but is airport actually its own standard (ie - airport will only connect to airport), or will it connect to any 802.11b-compatible wireless device (such as a LinkSys Wireless Access Point)?
Is AirPort just the name that apple have given to their implementation of 802.11b? |

Airport is just standard 802.11b wireless hardware... you can use 3rd party cards to
connect to it, and you can connect to 802.11b networks with your airport card. |
