Finally totem 1.1.5 made it into portage, but there is an error in the ebuild. In this version the gtk only build works, eliminating the need for libgnomeui, nautilus, and gnome-desktop.
The current ebuild only removes nautilus.
Second this version of Totem requires musicbrainz, which isn't in the ebuild at all, so if you don't already have it, the emerge fails.
Just thought I would let you know, I made these changes and everything was peachy. |

Thanks for the info. Might want to file a bug on that one. _________________ For every hammer there is a nail.

I couldn't get this working either, from looking at the ebuild, it seems that it is being built, but maybe not installed properly.
I'm not sure. |

works for me :
Code: | media-video/totem-1.1.5 +a52 -debug +dvd +firefox +flac +gnome -lirc +mad -mozilla +mpeg +ogg -theora +vorbis +win32codecs -xine +xv 1,585 kB |
BUT not works really well. Most of the codecs are not upported so totally useless. |

Doesi t just say they arent supported in firefox when trying to load a video?
can you point us to a video that worked for you so we can at least test ours?
If it is just totem saying it cant do it, that should be modified because I've installed like every gstreamer plugin and it can try to play anything I throw at it.
However it has terrible audio sync problems, usualy if I try to pause or jump ahead. Anyone else have this or know when it will be fixed? I still generally have to use xine to watch things, but I so badly want totem and gstreamer to work. |
