Hi,
I have big problem with my partition, I use LVM, XFS, devfs and old 2.4.20-xfs-r4 kernel.
After I renamed a logical volume as follow:
lvrename /dev/datavg/alv /dev/datavg/blv
lvrename datavg clv alv

I can't use all lvm command anymore, all lvm command just crash immediately.
And after I strace the command it, I found out that it crash because of /proc/partitions .
it will crash also if I execute simple command to read this /proc/partitions
like "cat /proc/partitions".
and this is the kernel error message if I execute "cat /proc/partitions":

Code:

The server is still running fine, but I worry that I would not be able to reboot it again because
the partition information is gone or the lvm info is corrupt.
Or is it simple to fix the file /proc/partitions again? or is it not dangerous just to reboot it again
and everything will fine again including this /proc/partitions ?

please help.,
thanks.
