|
|
I,ve installed Gentoo in a dual G5 2.5Mhz, and I,ve got the Geforce 6800 Ultra, using nv driver works but only
one Monitor (Apple Cinema 30") without 3D acceleration and in 1600x1200, I can reach the maximum resolution.
I'm using the USE ~ppc64 and gnome runs quite well except for ramdom hangs of Epiphany, and could compile
all my software.
I,ve tried to struggle with xorg.conf but I can get the 2 monitors working, If someone wants to share a working
xorg.conf! _________________ Pablo Sau

As i know, there is no dual monitor support for nvidia cards at this time. I've a friend who owns a Dual G5 with nvidia card and he could not get the second monitor working some time ago.
With ATI cards it is possible, if you are interested in the xorg.conf just see my config.
I think the needed patches for ATI cards are included in the actual xorg releases. |

if you have a working xorg.conf could you please post it? I am having trouble with any autoconfig programs and all the documentation envolving radeon (I also have an nvidia card)! I have two monitors as well but I was going to try to use KDE instead of gnome. I installed gnome on ppc64 over a year ago now and it seems like a lot better idea now than then, so why not try KDE? thanks! _________________ Mathematicians are a device for turning coffee into theorems |

ahh, Xorgautoconfig did the trick with one mod: set FBDev to the opposite of what it was. _________________ Mathematicians are a device for turning coffee into theorems |
