Hi,
Try as I might, I have not been able to use Swedish characters (åöä) in Open Office. They work fine elsewhere in Gentoo. What should I do to make it work?
Many thanks,

..in older OpenOffice ebuilds was a global variable to set, don't remember exactly the name...
Now, it should be using the "linguas" variable from kde. Did you set it? |

No, I run GNOME, and I am not sure what you are referring to. Can I find this setting in some menu somewhere?
Thanks for your time,

Not in a menu, but a system-wide variable "linguas" is used for i18n, especially in kde.
Perhaps setting linguas="se" in "make.conf" will do the trick? I am not sure about the "se", you'll definetely know this better
Just google or search here for "linguas". Afaik, there are some internationalization-guides for gentoo in the docs-section, i think it's already described there... |

Add
to your /etc/make.conf and re-emerge openoffice.
That should work, otherwise search in the Scandinavian forum here att the gentoo-forums, if I don't remember wrong there should be some posts about it too. _________________ //Nimo |
