all-in-wonder mythtv / freevo framebuffer tv help needed

I have an ATI All-In-Wonder (original) with 4096k and Mach64.

so far, i have installed gatos drivers, and km, giving me

/dev/video0

now, I would like to use mythtv or freevo on the frame buffer and not run X. I am able to get freevo(in X) working reliably for playing mp3 , mp3gs, divx, but not DVD's or TV. i have not yet been able to get mythtv working.

can someone offer me some help on both the frame buffer output AND getting mythtv to work?

i have searched the forums completely but i coulnt find the answer.

would it be better for me to just ditch the AIW and get a bttv8x8 card?

I think freevo is the way ill end up going in the end but im not sure how long until they get the "pause live tv" working. I like the idea of having an all-in-one unit that plays videos/dvd,plays/records/pauses tv, plays my mp3/ogg collection, and also plays the "classic" console roms like snes,nes,gameboy,genesis etc.
