I've searched exhaustively for answers but cant find any. I replaced my motherboard and power supply with new ones because my old power supply fried the old motherboard. It didnt do anything to my athlon cpu though so i used it on my new board (it supports it) Now that i have everything running good. I can't seem to get a readout for my cpu temp. The bios monitor says the temp is reserved.
CPU Temperature: Reserved
I do get readouts for my case and fan speeds though. I'm lost.
This problem isnt gentoo related, but this forum is friendly. and i like it. ( i have gentoo though ) _________________ Compact Space |

Do you have an "old" Athlon (Thunderbird core) ? If so, it seems that some boards (like the ECS L7S7A2) don't have a thermistor under the socket, and are only able to read the internal thermal diode in the CPU... but Thunderbirds don't have one (only the Athlon XPs do). Look at this page. |
