I wanted to take a look at wmii (http://wmi.modprobe.de) but when I tried to emerge wmii I got:
Code: | Calculating dependencies >>> Unpacking source...
>>> Unpacking wmii-2.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/wmii-2/work
* Applying wmii-2_050802.patch ... [ ok ]
sed: -e expression #7, char 23: unknown option to `s'
!!! ERROR: x11-wm/wmii-2 failed.
!!! Function src_unpack, Line 33, Exitcode 1
!!! sed failed.
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.
...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) x11-wm/wmii-2 to /
>>> md5 files ;-) wmii-2.ebuild
>>> md5 files ;-) wmii-1.1.ebuild
>>> md5 files ;-) files/wmii-2_050802.patch
>>> md5 files ;-) files/digest-wmii-1.1
>>> md5 files ;-) files/wmii.desktop
>>> md5 files ;-) files/digest-wmii-2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) wmii-2.tar.bz2

Damn! I thought. Well, emerged wmi, but without trying it I then went on to meddle with the 2.6.13 kernel, which I am running now, and while in it I tried again to emerge wmii. This time it went through no questions asked. I was previously using the kernel 2.6.12-r6. Was it the kernel or is wmi a missing dependency of wmii? |
