I've got reiserfs on an external harddrive and now atleast one of the blocks has gone bad. I've been looking around google and the forums and it doesn't look promising. I'm running badblocks on the drive. Should I take that list of blocks and pass it into reiserfsck --fix-fixable -B badblockslist /dev/sdb1? Its a little unclear from the man page what to do and for some reason namesys' site seems to not be responding. I really don't want to lose the data on that drive. Anyone had similar problems/solutions?
Thanks in advance. |

That looks about right if you're going to continue trying to use that drive.
You can use ddrescue to clone the drive or partition to a healthy one. _________________ "Mr Thomas Edison has been up on the two previous nights discovering 'a bug' in his phonograph." --Pall Mall Gazette (1889)
