After reading this topic, I'm still not 100% clear what to do.
There's a direct request for a serial in this thread, and I just disapprove of practises like this.
Using illegal software is everyone's own responsibility, but: get them from somewhere else  |

The first thread you indicated was locked September 18. The second one doesn't seem to have the direct reference to a serial that you mentioned. They simply appear to be talking about disabling debug mode on VMware 4beta. I'm curious to know how that's a 'request for a serial'.

Well, someone stating an email-address and noting that it is too expensive to buy Vmware. The intention is kinda obvious, isn't it?

i don't think she/he is talking/asking for a serial!
i think it is about how to disable the debug mode and nothing more or less.
