I have been trying to get Squid to auth against NT for quite sometime and finally after countless hours I got it work but noticed in testing that winbind wasn't starting with /etc/init.d/samba restart or start. Now I checked my samba config file in the conf.d directory and it shows the following.

#add "winbind" to the daemon_list if you also want winbind to start
daemon_list="smbd nmbd winbind"

I can start winbind manually by typing winbindd but would really like it to start up with the init.d command.
Any ideas? |

| Does anyone have an idea? I am running 3.0.14a-r2. In the meantime I am running it through rc.local but would love to have it load as a service as it was intended. |
