I want to move the mysql db over to another parition where I have more space to expand the db. How can or should this be done? Not 100% sure. Any help would be great. A procedure list maybe? ) _________________ I think Gentoo is great!

stop mysql, then edit /etc/mysql/my.cnf
under the section "[mysqld]" change the value of

datadir = /var/lib/mysql
|
to whatever you want.
It should be supported by start/stop scripts and others, if it is not please fill a bug-report. |

Can't I just create a symbolic link? Instead of chaning the config file? _________________ I think Gentoo is great! |
