I'm running firefox through privoxy (running as a filtering proxy). Every once in a while, firefox will suddenly attempt to load a nonexistant URL. Just now it tried to jump to "http://y/". Has anyone else ever had this happen? I'm not sure if privoxy is at fault or firefox. javascript and java are always turned off in firefox (I use konqurer when I need that kind of browsing).

That happens when you middle click and have something in your clipboard or primary selection.
Be careful when middle clicking in firefox; it will either try to parse the clipboard contents as a URL or do a Google "I'm feeling lucky" search which takes you to the first google result of searching for your clipboard contents. _________________ "Mr Thomas Edison has been up on the two previous nights discovering 'a bug' in his phonograph." --Pall Mall Gazette (1889)

OMG! That was it. I just tested it by highlighting single characters and middle-clicking. Thanks |
