Just some input:
I was running x11vnc for a couple weeks, but was extremely unhappy (had to restart the daemon after every time I logged in via xdm... and EXTREMELY poor performance).
I just installed the newest version of RealVNC, and set it up as per their article on Native X Displays, and I must say it is MUCH MUCH MUCH faster than x11vnc....
Not sure really why, but that's just my initial reaction - I was using x11vnc to administer my *new* (aka... all old components, but new for me) PVR computer over a wireless connection (11Mbps), and the computer was basically unusable.
Right now, with RealVNC, I have no noticable delay between interations on my laptop and those that occur on the TV screen that the system is hooked up to... which is nothing short of amazing!
Just for those who would like to know... |
