I'm thinking the fact that I get this:
glxgears: Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual.
when I open glxgears has something to do with it. Fluxbox works great with my Xorg.conf, but gnome seems really messed up. The color is grainy and theres a ton of horizontal lines. Whats up?
Also my middle scrolling doesn't work anymore. These things are making me think that this isn't reading from my Xorg.conf in /etc/X11/Xorg.conf.
Oh yes now I remember....I killed fluxbox, started gdm, but found I had to be root to do so. I guess that would mean its using my config from /root/xorg.conf? What should I do to get gdm to load at bootup and look to /etc/X11/xorg.conf as opposed to the one it appears to be looking to in /root?
Thanks so much. |
