|
|
Hi all,
has anyone managed to render using more than one cpu/core with yafray? I did not manage to do this in blender. I tried both the xml-external and the internal yafray renderer. Both did not work (on my amd64 x2 4400+).
Any suggestions are very welcome.

you're going to need the latest blender 2.37 and yafray 0.0.8 for use with multi-core cpus... both are in portage as ~x86 |

I have both of them installed! Sorry, I should have mentioned that earlier. |

I found out that you have to enable 2CPUs before rendering the first time. After rendering, changing this has no effect.
Unfortunately I noticed, that I get very annoying artifacts when I use yafray 0.0.8 and/or blender 2.37(a). I switched back to yafray 0.0.7 and blender 2.36-r1. I do not have dual core and softbodies then, but at least the artifacts are gone. |

Update: I got rid of the artifacts by lowering my cflags to
Code: | CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=athlon64" |
which is pretty much the standard. |
