I want a real good meter to show ram usage, cpu usage, hardrive space, etc. I want one that is easier then torsmorc, I do not like torsmorc.

well, torsmo isn't maintained anymore. Now we use 'conky'.
Other than those two, I can't really suggest anything else. I only use conky -- it fit's my needs just fine.

I tried it emerge it and it didn't work.

'emerge conky' didn't work? Could you be a little more specific and post any errors you received?

do an 'emerge sync' It sounds to me as if you haven't done that in some time perhapes.
