this is newbie questio but i dont care, can i make my machine an email server, could i create a domain by myself and if with this domain could i make email addresses like something@lonrot.com

Short answer: yes
Longer answer: maybe.
It all depends on the policies of your ISP. They may very well block incoming port 25, in which case, you're out of luck. However, if you find that they do *not* block incoming port 25, you can follow one of several HOWTO documents on the Gentoo Wiki explaining how to set up an email server. Here's one example of the many. |

even if they block port 25 incoming, you are not all doomed, in that case they will most likely provide a backup mx server, in which case you can add the mx records to your dns of the domain, and it will work |
