yes. eclipse. it's a pain to setup and install all plugins without borking something. after that, you have the best RAD tool availble, and the most flexible (from desktop apps to simple php and html to java web development).
anyway, to edit a couple of lines of code for web pages I use jEdit and I find it very satisfying. also has a bunch of plugins. |

| I like Quanta Plus from KDE a lot! It "auto-completes" and shows the syntax of the commands. It just rocks for me! |

I tried all the ones mentioned already and I stuck with Quanta.
Learning curve might be higher, but once you get it, productivity and features are top notch. |

| +1 on the hands and syntax highlighting - nothing can beat having an intimate knowledge of what each tag does from the ground up. It's not as if it is difficult to learn the basics and it really does stand you in good stead. |

You actually can do the same just with a hex editor, using binary code instead of
that "ascii" facility.......
I think he was asking for a fast way....

nvu really sucks IMO. I couldn't stand it for more than a few days.
Without dreamweaver, I just use kate. And for small projects, it's just fine.
