Using 2.6.13 kernel, I have tried all the ac97_quirks and the best I can get is a horrible buzz and music coming out of the MIC JACK.

Anyone else have this working? I get this error when loading the modules with any quirk :

mm alsa # /etc/init.d/alsasound start
* Loading ALSA modules ...
* Loading: snd-card-0 ... [ ok ]
* Loading: snd-seq-oss ... [ ok ]
* Loading: snd-pcm-oss ... [ ok ]

UPDATE:

Downloaded the beta drivers last night from alsa. The card now works, only plays via the MIC. Anyone have a suggestion as how to fix this? Does it make a difference?

You ever figure this out? I'm having a similar problem with kernel 2.6.14_rc1 (the alsa-driver package wont compile). I get this in /var/log/messages:
