Hello all,
I was just wondering if there is anything in the vanilla kernel or gentoo kernel, or any software installable via portage, that'll let me read a multisessioned dvdr (+ or -) with a standard dvdrom drive. In my case the drives will be a Lite-on 163 and a Benq 1640 burner installed in a system running gentoo with kernel 2.6.11.
I don't fully understand the root of this problem (why a drive can't read those subsequent sessions), but if there's any way around it with apps/utils readily available in linux, please drop me a line.
This applies specifically to +/-R media. I'm too cheap for RW, heh, so growing the first session isn't really an option.
Thanks,
Chris |

onesandzeros,
Try the mount option when X is the session number. I have a feeling that sessions are numbered from 0 _________________ Regards,

Neddy,
Thanks for this tip! I'll post back when I get a dvdr drive. Yeah, I'm a *bit* behind the times. Finally got an LCD, though.
