I recently emerged gnome-light mainly because I wanted Gnome but I didn't want all the extra crap it throws in that I simply do not need. When I login now the first thing that I get is an error message that says xscreensaver can not be found/started. The easy fix is to emerge xscreensaver, but I don't even want the pacakge at all. None of it is required for the application I am using this system for. Does anyone know where/what to edit to make this not even try to start when Gnome is loaded? |

I have no idea if there is a clean way of solving this, but what happens if you create an executable file with only the bash starting line and place it in your path and call it xscreensaver? |
