Hi, i have installed Gentoo 1.4_rc2 and i have some problems with sound, i try to play a mp3 (in console mode with mp3blaster) and the sound always sounds horrible (it jumps always).
The kernel is the same one i used in gentoo 1.2 and my soundcard is a SB AW32, and i use OSS. |

Its the ALSA drivers... I dont know about the player you are using but get XMMS, with it you can set the sound inside the player itself, and when you put it to like 80% and the rest you control with speakers.. everything is just fine.
If you can do this somehow in settings all together, I would love to hear about it. |

Thanks for your help, but the problem was other, the problem was in irq configuration of soundcard, i've seen in the kernel log that the soundcard tried to use the irq 9, the same that the network interface, then i've changed the soundcard's irq and now works perfetly. |
