Acabo de emerger el eclipse-3.0.1, no es posible tenerlo en español? o es que se me ha escapado algo? Gracias.

Yo tengo eclipse sin emerger (directamente desde la web) asi que no te puedo decir, pero en el caso de los idiomas y paquetes asi enormes siempre se ha solucionado con # LINGUAS="es" emerge ...

Me da que no, eclipse no está traducido al español, no se si habrá algún plugin o algo para traducirlo.

Yo uso eclipse 3.1 y la verdad es que no tengo mucha idea de inglés pero me las apaño bien, no es un programa que necesite saber mucho inglés.

Saludos a todos !!

He instalado eclipse 3 haciendo emerge eclipse, pero cuando lo llamo desde mi Shell-Konsole me sale el siguiente error:

An error has occurred. See the log file
"/home/usuarios/is/rene/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.0.0/configuration/1126880035946.log".

Podrán ayudarme a solucionar el problemita y que el eclips pueda funcionarme ???

Qué máquina virtual de java tienes en tu sistema? Porque doy por supuesto que tienes permisos de escritura en tu carpeta.

Mira a ver si tefunciona hacer

Al ejecutar rm -r /home/usuarios/is/rene/.eclipse y volver a llamar el eclipse con el comando eclipse-3, me sale el mismo error el cual transcribo:

An error has occurred. See the log file
"/home/usuarios/is/rene/.eclipse/org.eclipse.platform_3.0.0/configuration/1126884398902.log".

Intenté probar con la cuenta root, pero tengo kde 3.4 y no ermite la entrada con root en el ambiente gráfico. Alguien sabe cómo activar esa cuenta??

Puedes configurar al kdm para que te deje, o puedes usar Ctrl+Alt+F1 para irte a la consola 1 y entrar como root, parar al kdm e iniciar una sesión X con startx. De todas formas no nos has dicho qué máquina virtual tienes instalada, y ya que estás di si te funcionan correctamente otros programas java

Bueno, realmente lo 'unico de java que he instalado en mi gentoo 2.6.12 r10 ha sido xjavac version 20041208-r1

No s'e si eso te responde tu pregunta. No tengo mucha experiencia con Java y menos en Linux Gentoo.

mira a ver si tienes en /opt la carpeta blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.02 o alguna relacionada con java.

Para ver si tienes instalada alguna versión del JDK (que necesita Eclipse) puedes probar este comando:
