hi,
i have just installed and configured laptop-mode on my thinkpad r51. concerning the hd options, i have done following things in my laptop-mode.conf:
Code: |
# Idle timeout for your hard drive (man hdparm for valid values, -S option)
# Default is 2 hours on AC (AC_HD_WITHOUT_LM=244) and 5 seconds for battery
# (BATT_HD=1) and for AC with laptop mode on (AC_HD_WITH_LM=1).
# Note: AC_HD_WITH_LM is used when AC power is present but laptop mode is enabled
# (i.e. with LAPTOP_MODE_ALWAYS_ON=1), while AC_HD_WITHOUT_LM is used when
# AC power is present and laptop mode is _disabled_. We still support the old
# option AC_HD: if it is set in the config file then it overrides both these
# options.
AC_HD_WITH_LM=120
AC_HD_WITHOUT_LM=244
#BATT_HD=0
# Shall we adjust the power management values on the hard drives?
DO_HD_POWERMGMT=1
# Power management for HD (hdparm -B values)
AC_HDPARM_POWERMGMT_WITH_LM=255
AC_HDPARM_POWERMGMT_WITHOUT_LM=255
#BATT_HDPARM_POWERMGMT=0
# The drives for which to adjust the idle timeout and power management settings.
# Separate them by a space, e.g. HD="/dev/hda /dev/hdb".
HD="/dev/hda /dev/hdb /dev/hdc /dev/hdd"
# Set the spindown timeout on the hard drives?
DO_HD=1 |
now although i have the -B options turned off and the -S option turned on 10min my hd stops to spin every 5secs. first i had and Code: | BATT_HDPARM_POWERMGMT | turned on, then i tried to deactivate it with 0. now i have commented it out. no change, the hd spins down after 5secs. with laptop-mode turned off everything is ok. with laptop-mode on and AC on everything is ok. btw, i do not have a battery-runlevel or some other configurations concerning the hd from the handbook. i have laptop-mode in my default-rl and turned it on all the time (only for informations, dunno if it is relevant).
