Sorry I could not find any answer match my problem..

I got error message "Segmentation fault" when try to run the basic command such as ls or rm .
I was wondering if someone could help me.. Thank you..

what arch are you running?
is this a fresh install or a fresh problem on an old install?

Linux e2.6.11-gentoo-r11 #2 SMP Sun Jun 19 14:02:49 GMT 2005 i686 Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

It was working before.. I think this problem occur after emerge -u world

Same here >_<

I have this problem for weeks. And I notice that I have compilation errors that are "not reproducible because it is likely an Hardware or OS" error.

Most your CCFLAGS.
If your compile segfaults and you are using a stable computer your cpu maybe bad or damaged ram

I just use the default CFLAGS. Something like "-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe". So I don't think that is the problem. memtest86 claims that my RAM is not malfunctioning, and my harddisk is fine. So it may be the CPU? How can I test my CPU?
