Unmerge modutils and emerge module-init-tools. _________________ Military Commissions Act of 2006: http://tinyurl.com/jrcto

I propose the following course of action:
Code: | quickpkg modutils
emerge -C modutils
emerge module-init-tools |
As module-init-tools are backwards-compatible there shouldn't be any problems, even if you decide to boot a 2.4 kernel.
In the unlikely case that the module-init-tools build fails you can always roll back to the quickpackaged modutils version.
HTH.

You mean old, maimed and crippled emotionally by the atrocities of Gentoo?
Don't count postcount. I've just been here for a while and spend way too much time on the web.
I'm just an anonymous person on the internet, so don't trust my advice an more than you would the next guy.
Fortunately the commands above and what they do can easily be verified using the man pages. Which have been written by the Gentoo devs, who are a tad more trustworthy. A tad.
Good Luck! _________________ Please put [SOLVED] in your topic if you are a moron. |
