ciao, ho un portatile asus A4500L. Windows XP trova che il network adapter wireless sia "ASUS USB wireless network adapter" e googlando leggo che è 802.11b ma nient'altro, per cui non posso sapere con quali driver per linux funziona.
come posso scoprirlo?

| prova con il tentativo bruto: se emerge alsa-driver senza specificare la scheda nel make.conf emerge compila i moduli per tutte le schede supportate. poi lanci alsaconf e vedi se rileva la scheda. solitamente sono due: una dumb e la tua. lo so che non è il massimo della vita... però potrebbe essere una soluzione. cmq io con il mio asus ho avuto la scheda sonora funzionante parzialmente dopo un 6 mesi che avevo il pc. colpa delle cose integrate. |

sul cd dei driver del pc 
mi sa che ti conviene andare sul sito asus a vedere le specifiche hardware e scaricarti poi i drivers da li o dal sito del costruttore, e poi vedere che modulo ti serve.
oppure prova se lsusb -v dice qualcosa di più. |
