I have my usb printer and usb scanner plugged into a hub and they both work fine. If I plug my digital camera into it I get an error that says special device sda1 does not exist and the camera will not mount. If I plug the camera into the front USB port it mounts just fine. Any idea why the camera will not work on the hub?

how is USB support enabled in your kernel modules or built in?
also make sure you have mass storage support enabled for USB

if its modules. try modprobe usb-storage then try mounting it.

did you try lsusb or dmesg to see what that shows?
