gnome icons

Hi all i want to ask a question about icons in gnome.Exactly how do i assign an icon for a specific file type?I mean how can i make foo.png to be the default icon for *.chm files?

I think there are anything about mime-types, but i can't find it.

As far as I know you will have to manually edit the icon theme you are using.
