I was looking at the Gentoo Documention from the main Gentoo page and noticed that there is no link for a printer friendly version. It would be nice to have this for people that don't have access to the internet while they are installing Gentoo. I know on the Gentoo 1.2 version there was an install file included in the download (ISO). If there isn't one available I may type on up in PDF format. Where and who would I submit it to for approval for the website?
Thanks |

I'm pretty sure there's an option for documentation at bugs.gentoo.org. Also, I'd think updating the website to provide a printable version would be better than a .pdf version. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

It doesn't have to be PDF just as long as you could print out a version of the docs.
I have a .doc version right now that is printable and readable. |

Code: | lynx -dump http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-x86-install.xml |
and before you poo-poo that, that's precisely what was used to create the txt version of the install file for 1.2.

But still it would be convinient to have this option, not only when it comes to the install docs, but to most of the gentoo documentation.. _________________ Say no to Americas war on Iraq! |

Gentoo's documentation (and in fact the entire web site) is written in XML and translated to HTML via XSL style sheets. If someone would like to help out by writing an XSL style sheet that would translate the XML docs into printer-friendly format, I'm sure we'd welcome the help.
If you're so inclined, you can contact me privately and I'll give you more details.

It simply meant if you'd like to help create the XSL style sheet, let me know and I can give you more details.
