Ok I can't get my sound to work. I have a conexant card. It looks like it thinks that the card is working from everything i have seen. So it looks like the card is running all well, except for that no sound is coming out of my speakers. I don't know much about how to configure sound. Can anyone tell me what I would do to try to figure out what the problem is? And once I figure that out, how to fix it? The only distro that I have tried that has worked with my sound is ubuntu. Does anyone know what Ubuntu does differently with sound than most other distros? |

if you want to learn how to configure your sound card, the Gentoo ALSA guide is a great start. If you want to get specifics about your card... go to this url: http://www.alsa-project.org/
I have this card on my Debian system and it works great. But I just let the distribution figure out how to set it up after I followed the links above. |
