cpu is a via c3 samuel2
should chost be 586 or 686?
make.conf.example says not to edit it unless you are doing stage 1 (im doing stage3)
I've already found the settings for cflags and such, but the chost is ambigious _________________ -Tim Smith |

The make.conf.example is correct you must not change the chost in stage3 i have read mutch about it on my first install and i never read anything saying to change it on a stage3 install.
Of course you can always change it after you system is all up and running and re-emerge the system to the new chost. _________________ Never Quit, Never Get Mad, Get Even |

If your cpu flags in /proc/cpuinfo include cmov, use i686, otherwise use i586. If you have an i686 tarball but don't have comv, you'd be best off downloading a new tarball. If you have an i586 tarball and do have cmov, you'll have to do a stage one bootstrap to change to i686. |
