Hi,
Our gentoo box acts as a file server for Windows workstations.
Some of our employees work on Access databases and we have several problems with access databases files.
For example, the first problem (fixed now) was the name of the files. If it's not a filename with a length lower than 8 chars, it won't open.
Now, we're facing another problem ... When a employee A works on the .mdb file, the lock doesn't seem to be released when the employee has finised working! But when root access the file, all is fine. And when another employee B, belonging to the same group as A, tries to access and open the mdb file, it fails!
So does samba manage the multiple accesses to a mdb file or not? and if A and B could access the file at the same time, are the modifications made by both A and B, will be written?
Is there special parameters to pass to samba for multiple access? or better managment of multiple access? ...
