ciao a tutti,
ho una scheda 3com OfficeConnect Wireless 11g PC Card, so già che è supportata dai driver per chipset Prism54. Vorrei però sapere come faccio a conoscere il chipset della scheda, cioè che comandi devo dare. Dando un lspci -v, ottengo questo:

anche io ho una scheda che potrebbe essere quella, devi guardare se c'è scritto v2.0 perchè se è cosi allora i prism54 non vanno bene e devi usare ndiswrapper come ho fatto io.

A me è capitato con la netgear wg 311... cambia revision e mi cambiano chipset -_-

in quest'ultimo output, ho omesso le parti relative alle altre periferiche.
Dunque, in grassetto ci sono le info relative alla mia scheda. Dall'output relativo a lspci -n, ottengo l'ID della scheda, ossia numero:numero, che nel mio caso è 10b7:6001.
Il 10b7 è il numero del vendor, cioè 3com. L'altro numero, 6001, è relativo al modello della mia scheda.
Il nome completo della scheda è OfficeConnect Wireless 11g PC Card e il numero del prodotto è 3CRWE154G72.
Credo che la versione della scheda sia la 1 (c'è scritto rev 1), e quindi sarà supportata dai prism54: che dite?
Quello che non vedo in quegli output, è il modello del mio chipset.
Come faccio? Lo so che sono solo pippe mentali (perdonate la "licenza poetica"), ma vorrei capire.

La mia è una 3CRDW696 ... sono diverse quindi

guarda lasciamo stare.... stavo per rinunciare al wifi sul portatile ma il fatto che su win andava mi faceva incazzare, poi un giorno per sbaglio lancio comandi a caso letti ovunque in giro per la rete e magicamente si è accesa la lucetta.... stavo per piangere....
poi il casino è stato far andare il tutto on WEP e menate varie ma questo era dovuto più che latro alla mia ignoranza

Ho utilizzato prima che uscissero i driver nativi linux due schede wifi in ndiswrapper, devo dire che il software e' una fortuna che esista, pero' i driver nativi sono piu' performanti. Spero che prima o poi arrivino i driver nativi per tutte le schede wifi.
