I got problems concerning my Compaq:
I have added (successfully) those Multimediakeys like internet, mail and search, but I can't figure out how to make te Fn-keys functional. The multimedia keys used to generate an error event (unknown key) in dmesg until i assigned them a keycode (using setkeycodes), unfortunately, neither Fn alone nor Fn+other key generate such and event, so i am stuck here.
Does anybody know what I got to do that Linux will recognize those keys? I'd very much enjoy getting them to work (such as the WLAN key and the sound-mute key). Also I would love to get my Linux to go into standby automatically if i close the lid of the monitor. I heard rumours that this had to be done by grabbing some ACPI event that "close lid" and possibly also the Fn keys generate, but I don't know a) how to grab this event and b) how to assign an action when this event takes happens.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks ia,
Morimando

Is there a way to tell Linux to standby when /proc/acpi/button/lid/C19C/state changes from "open" to "close"?
And, of course, to wakeup when it changes from "close" to "open"?Would be a real charm, at the moment Linux is not the best choice for my Laptop, but i want to use Linux rather than Windows
