i have a usb hard drive that keeps loosing its connection with linux, so-to-speak. i can unplug and replug the usb cable and remount the hard drive and use it for several hours without problems before it happens again.
is the problem with the filesystem, the hardware, or linux?

If possible try it with another memory stick to make sure the problem is or isn´t the hardware.
