Sep 25 22:55:11 [amavis] (22892-01) ask_av (ClamAV-clamd) FAILED - unexpected result: /var/amavis/tmp/amavis-20050925T225511-22892/parts: Access denied. ERROR

I've tried including clamav in amavis group, but that didn't solve it. I'm sure it is a stupid minimal thing, but i don't figure it out...

Thanks in advance

You will have to run clamd under the same user (not only group) than amavis.
Alter your /etc/clamd.conf to run as amavis.

Seems to be working like a charm. I didnt want to change the user under clamav was running to avoid potential exploits.

Thanks :)

...the rights of /var/run/clamav might not be right.

on my system they were clamav:clamav - changed them to amavis:clamav solved the problem.

On my system it worked when I changed this:

- clamd is running as user clamav
- amavis is running as user amavis
- I set the rights of /var/run/clamav from clamav:clamav to amavis:clamav
and
- I set the rights of /var/amavis/tmp from clamav:clamav to amavis:clamav
